The OYFA Excellence Scholarship shall be awarded to an outstanding first-year student who displays enthusiasm and dedication to OYFA and its goals, has excelled in his/her academic studies, and demonstrates financial need. The Scholarship shall also be awarded based on extra-curricular activities, leadership ability and experience and community service. The Excellence Scholarship is awarded at the end of the year at the annual Barrio Fiesta culture show.
The He Cares Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps care for and gives hope to the street children of Metro Manila, Philippine. The institution provides them with basic necessities such as food, clothing, education, medical assistance, and spiritual support by permanently housing 25 children, feeding 300 in their weekly programs, sponsoring scholars, building home for poor families, and offering livelihood mentorships.
OYFA has been supporting the He Cares Foundation since 2009 and is committed to raising awareness and funds for the organization. Past efforts include the Lakas is Strength 5K Race, Pag-Asa (Hope) Benefit Concert, concessions, and t-shirt sales.
